Michael Gurney D.L. High Sheriff of Norfolk visited Swaffham yesterday, 17th March.
Whilst in Swaffham Museum The High Sheriff learned about the contribution of Swaffham Men’s Shed to the refurbishment of the Carter Room for Swaffham Heritage, in support of Carter 22 celebrations.

The photo shows The High Sheriff accompanied by Judy Anscombe, Mayor of Swaffham, and Sue Gattuso, Manager of Swaffham Museum. Behind them is the glimpse wall, constructed by Men’s Shed members, including Rusty and Doug, on the table is a model of the tomb site made by John, and some wooden triangles for young visitors to build. In the background are replicas of one of the coffins of Tutankhamun’s children, also discovered in his tomb, made by Colin.
Men’s shed members have also designed and will construct a pyramid structure which will display over 300 triangular Mosaic tiles which will be made by members of the community over the summer.

The first open workshop will be held on Saturday 26th March from 2pm in The Green Parrot. To book, visit
